RSC Eastern supports a wide range of Work Based Learning providers with current LSC contracts who are based in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk, with a primary focus on WBL organisations who have undertaken, or intend undertaking, any of the CEL Connect/Realise, the NIACE e-Guides programmes, or wish to bid for ALP Learning Innovation Grant (LIGs) funding.
We are happy to visit and to support eligible (LSC-funded) organisations participating in the above programmes with free advice on the embedding of ILT/e-Learning and bid-writing, and in some cases put providers in touch with other organisations who have faced similar issues.
The RSC facilitates WBL networking opportunities through forum meetings which are usually held each term and these are are open to ACL and WBL providers in the Eastern Region. For details visit Regional Forum Meetings
Many providers may already have been contacted via the RSC's email discussion list, JISCmail, which can be used as an interactive forum and network between WBL subscribers for those within the WBL e-Learning community with an interest in the development of e-Learning. If you wish to join this JISCmail list, please email listowner
Funded by the LSC and available free to all authorised organisations in the post-16 sector, including supported WBL providers, the NLN materials represent one of the most wide-ranging collections of e-learning materials in the UK.
The NLN Materials are small, flexible 'bite-sized' episodes of learning. They are not whole courses but are designed to support a wide range of subject and topic areas. The materials adopt a range of approaches involving some knowledge acquisition, a chance to practice and absorb, and some form of assessment to check that the learning has been understood and the learning outcome(s) achieved. For more details and to register to access the Materials, visit http://www.nln.ac.uk/
The Excellence Gateway is the complete online service for post-16 learning and skills providers comprising a range of tools and examples of good practice in teaching and learning. Please see http://www.excellencegateway.org.uk/
