(HEFCE (2009) Enhancing learning and teaching through the use of technology)
Improved quality in teaching and learning underpins all our support areas. The RSC provides an advisory role to our regional post-16 learning providers, to enhance teaching and learning through the use of existing and emerging technology to improve the learner experience, e.g. personalised and flexible learning.
We can advise department and curriculum heads on innovative technology based learning using a pedagogical approach. This covers tools such as Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), e-Portfolios and, how to choose and select the right e-learning / mobile technology to widen participation, and engage hard-to-reach learners.
Our focus also includes support for senior managers and ILT managers, specific e-learning projects, and the sharing and dissemination of good practice. We offer support in the development and implementation of ILT and e-learning strategies. This is done through a range of activities including structured visits, forum meetings, liaison with partners and a wide variety of focussed events and workshops.
